Synopsis:

Welcome…to The Bay. It will take your breath away…

Hidden along Thailand’s idyllic coastline is an awe-inspiring lagoon where steep-sided rock formations called ‘karsts’ rise from the water line, towering above the bay and sealing it off from the outside world. It’s a place of its own, where nature flourishes, untouched by human hands.

While visiting for a destination wedding, a chance encounter leads old friends Emma and Lani to charter a local tour boat to visit the remote bay, with the hope of seeing the magnificent tiger sharks who have made it their home.

In the capable hands of their captain, Mandal, and his rough and ready boatman Ruhan, the young women are entranced by the beauty of this secret paradise. But some places are best left alone – and when the rusty old tour boat is rammed by a giant female shark, the two friends get much closer to nature than they bargained for.

Isolated, hemmed in by the imposing landscape, and now fast sinking, with space for only one person on their life-raft, the young women must together call on all their resources to survive.

From specialist in the genre, filmmaker Phil Volken, The Bay presents mankind’s battle with nature in its most simple, terrifying terms – a razor-sharp thriller, beguiling in its beauty, but ruthless in its execution.
Can you survive, in a place where every breath might be your last?e were every breath might be your last?
