TOOTH FAIRY

Writer & Director: Tony Morales
Producers: Jordi Roca, Miguel Ruz, Peter Block, Cory Neal
Status: Pre-Production
Synopsis:
A pall of grief hangs over the little village of Vernaza, buried deep in rural Spain. The isolated mountain community, cut off from the outside world and slowly falling into ruin, is haunted by tragedy, scarred by its past. For as long as anyone can remember, no child there has lived beyond 20 years of age.
And it’s to Vernaza that Abril, a social worker nursing her own pain, must travel to deliver the recently orphaned Daniel into the care of his estranged grandmother Rebeca.
But this is no place for a child: and Abril is quickly unsettled by the community’s veil of silence, Rebeca’s erratic behaviour, and her rising fear that there is a very real truth behind the local legend of the Tooth Fairy – a dark entity believed to have stolen Vernaza’s children – that hangs threateningly around the village.
Abril knows she cannot just abandon the innocent Daniel and must find inner strength to face her own past: to protect the boy from the demonic curse that holds the community in its nightmarish grasp.
Filmmaker Tony Morales expands upon the terrifying mythology he conjured in his short film Hada, and constructs a truly immersive, classic horror movie with an ingenious twist on the Tooth Fairy folklore.
