Synopsis:
The Hive: a high-tech, highly classified command unit. An elite team of anti-terror operatives, and the UN Secretary General’s all-seeing ‘guardian angel’ – tasked with neutralising threats with extreme prejudice, by any means necessary…
With a summit looming in Tenerife, and increased chatter on the airwaves from secretive terror cell “The Prophesy”, The Hive’s commander Kate McKenzie (Franka Potente) – a legend in the world of espionage, and notorious for her ruthless, take-no-prisoners methods – needs an expert on the shadowy outfit, who present a clear and present danger.
Enter Interpol rising star Maria Gomez (Sophie Cookson). Deployed to The Hive on the eve of the summit, she needs to get up to speed fast.
Then when a bomb goes off in the city centre – accompanied by a chilling warning: that top UN executive Ulvin will be assassinated in 90 minutes, and made to pay for his, and The Hive’s, role in silencing whistle-blowers – Maria realises everything is on the line for her.
But this is what McKenzie and The Hive live for: mobilising her crack team – Nick on the streets of Barcelona; Labelle, systems tech; Cortez, explosive ordnance disposal; Geng, psych profiler; and Virk, ’pilot’ of the drone swarm, the ‘eye in the sky’ that tracks Ulvin’s every move – the hunt is on.
And Maria’s not just along for the ride: her insight and razor-sharp instincts will prove vital as the minutes tick by, especially when it becomes clear that no one can be trusted, and a mole has infiltrated The Hive…
From director Martín Rosete, The Hive is a state-of-the-art pressure-cooker, a fast paced, real-time international thriller, where the stakes are massive and every second counts.
