MISS YOU, LOVE YOU

Director & Writer: Jim Rash
Cast: Allison Janney, Andrew Rannells
Production Company: Madison Wells
Status: Completed
Synopsis:
Diane (Academy Award winner Allison Janney) has never taken a step backwards in her life, not once. She always seen life as a battle to be fought, and won, with only herself to rely on. But that can only get you so far. So, when her second husband dies, she's suddenly completely bereft and directionless, with no loved ones to turn to.
Alone in her New Mexico house, and in need of help but too proud to admit it, she imperiously summons her estranged son – who has carved out a successful life for himself on the West Coast, beyond the overbearing reaches of Diane. And it's only when the defiantly optimistic, richly sarcastic Jamie (Tony Award nominee Andrew Rannells) arrives – her son's personal assistant, pointedly sent in his stead – that it begins to dawn on Diane that you reap what you sow.
Now, with her husband's looming funeral to organise, Diane must process a whole lifetime's worth of issues with this complete stranger, Jamie – her new 'surrogate' son – to overcome her most complicated obstacle: herself.
Miss You, Love You is a showcase for two outstanding performers at the height of their powers. Wickedly funny and highly emotional, the film reaches right to the heart of human connection: recognising the bravery it takes to seize life's second chances and the vulnerability it takes to allow yourself to love, and be loved.
